Originally designed by Fred Ward for University House at the Australian National University in the 1950s, is this repurposed filing cabinet.
One thing I love about the ingenuity of the ANU Design Unit and the local cabinet makers who produced the furniture, is the repurposing of furniture and timbers instead of just creating something new. This luggage cabinet was repurposed from a filing cabinet in the 1970s to be used elsewhere at the university. The legs were cut and the drawers taken out to be replaced with a tilted laminate drawer and matching laminate top.
