A piece of local and international history. Designed by Johanna Sorth for Nexo Mobelfabrik, in Demark circa 1960s. Sorth’s work has been hailed for its simplicity and timeless elegance, which have earned his creations a place in the permanent collections of many art and design museums around the world. Incredibly, this secretary bookshelf was part of the extensive collection of mid century furniture sourced from all over the world for Hotel Hotel in New Acton, Canberra. The hotel changed hands in 2018 and is now known as Ovolo. Hotel hotel, a project by Molongo, was an experiment in how to create a meaningful space in collaboration with many – with designers, artists, artisans and fantasists. The exceptional results of this experiment are evident in the incredible photos displayed in my Instagram stories. I’m proud to present this to you all This is a combination bookcase and bureau in teak with a pull-out desk and a fitted desk top hidden by a tambour door.
